About the Precinct
The Unified Police Department Millcreek Precinct is led by one Chief, one Lieutenant, and eight Sergeants who supervise law enforcement operations throughout Millcreek City. The precinct is staffed by 25 patrol officers, four full-time Traffic Officers, three Detectives, two Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) Detectives, one Community Oriented Policing (C.O.P.) Detective, four School Resource Officers, one Mental Health Unit Detective, a full-time victim advocate, a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and two administrative secretaries.
Our team brings extensive law enforcement experience to the community. Officers draw on years of training and diverse assignments to solve crimes, conduct thorough traffic investigations, and operate a highly effective Community Oriented Policing program. Our diversity and experience strengthen our ability to serve the varied communities within Millcreek.
Traffic safety is a top priority. We actively enforce speed limits, red-light compliance, and school zone safety to prevent accidents and protect drivers, pedestrians, and families. Speed trailers are strategically placed in high-concern areas as an effective reminder for motorists to slow down.
Millcreek officers employ proactive patrol strategies that regularly lead to arrests of individuals involved in criminal activity. Our Investigations Unit analyzes crime patterns—particularly vehicle and residential burglaries—to identify suspects and bring offenders to justice. The Directed Enforcement Unit focuses on nuisance properties and drug investigations, working to remove illegal drugs from Millcreek streets.
With the support of the Mayor and City Council, the precinct has hired a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Through a co-response model, the social worker partners with the Mental Health Unit Detective to respond to mental health calls, provide follow-up services, and connect individuals with needed resources and counseling.
Community engagement remains central to our mission. We work closely with city officials, zoning and code enforcement, local community councils, and neighborhood groups to provide the level of service residents expect and deserve. We collaborate with the Millcreek Promise Program and participate in Venture Out and other events held at Millcreek Common.
Funding from the Beer Tax has enhanced our outreach efforts. We purchased a van converted into an ice cream truck, allowing us to provide free ice cream at community events, schools, and neighborhood gatherings—an initiative that has strengthened relationships and increased positive engagement with residents. Beer Tax funds also supported the acquisition of Millie, our Crisis Response K-9. Millie is specially trained to assist during mental health crises and traumatic incidents and regularly appears at schools and community events.
The Millcreek Precinct is located at 1330 Chambers Avenue inside Millcreek City Hall. The public reception area is on the second floor, with Police Administration and the Investigations Division on the third floor. Being housed in City Hall enhances collaboration with city departments and increases opportunities to connect with residents at Millcreek Common.
